Ceremony is how we shift the voices of conditioning and transmute them into the voice of the soul to SEE with new eyes...
A water ceremony is a gentle and powerful way to connect with your inner self and the world around you. It engages your senses and can be a beautiful process for setting intentions, releasing what doesn't serve you, and embracing what you desire.
Before you begin: Open Sacred Space
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
- Flowers you love (from your garden, a market, or nature—remember to be respectful of the environment)
- A bowl deep enough to float flower heads
- Candle votives, if you'd like to add fire to the ceremony
- Essential oils (optional, but can add a pleasant scent)
Step Two: Set Your Intention
Think about what you want to release and what you want to embrace. For example:
- Letting go of anger, blame, anxiety, or nightmares
- Reflecting on the past year: What did you love? What did you dislike? What do you want to change in the coming year?
- Acknowledge all experiences—joy, sorrow, fear, judgment
Step Three: Prepare the Bowl
Fill the bowl with water, ensuring there's enough depth to float the flowers and candle votives (if using). If you opt for candles, place them in the bowl before adding water to ensure they stay above the waterline.
Step Four: Add Essential Oils
Place a few drops of your favorite essential oil into the water. As you do this, honor the cardinal directions to create a sacred space.
Step Five: Release What No Longer Serves You
Take a flower head, hold it to your lips, and blow into it, imagining you're releasing what you want to let go of. Use as many flowers as you need to feel lighter.
Step Six: Embrace What You Desire
Take a flower head and using your breath, blow into it anything you would like to dream, embrace, manifest.
Step Seven: Close the Sacred Space
Acknowledge the cardinal directions and express gratitude to close the ceremony.
Step Eight: Let the Ceremony Unfold
Keep the bowl out for about a week, or until the flowers start to wilt. This allows the energy of your intentions to continue working.
Step Nine: Release to Nature
When it's time to end the ceremony, release the water and flowers back to the Earth, an ocean, or a river. Let the energy return to its source.
Ceremonies like this can help you focus on your inner journey, promoting reflection and creativity. Keep an eye out for new opportunities in the coming weeks, as they may be a sign that your intentions are taking shape.
